Designing

Since the time I have started this blog, many of my friends, colleagues keep on telling me to write on Designing, CSS, Flash, etc.

Finally I decided to start writing on Designing, Creativity, Coding, Technology, Tutorials on software’s, Tips and tricks, etc. as I feel much more confident and comfortable with writing now.

Designing
When we think of or hear about design/ designing first thing that come in our minds is an Image – A computer generated graphic. Today we are so much attached to computers, that for majority of ours mindset is set to “design = graphic/ image”

But that’s not the fact. In reality, Design is much more then being an image/ a graphic. It is an image but an image in eye of a designer/ creator. The output of the creator/ designer need not necessarily be an image.

Design (designing) existed even before people thought of computers. Everything we eat, drink, think, see, visualize, love, hate, do, not do, ignore, etc forms a part of design/ designing process directly or indirectly.
For e.g.: We all know Watermelons. Now you will think how watermelon is a design? Well it is a design. Check the texture/ skin of fruit. It’s a patterned design and can be classified as Natural Design. Similarly the printed cloths we wear, the bubbles on chilled glass, etc… form a part of design directly or indirectly.

There are various forms of design and in today’s world they are classified as:
1. Fashion designing,
2. Jewelry designing,
3. Textile designing,
4. Interior designing,
5. Architectural designing,
6. Automobile designing,
7. Graphic designing,
8. Video designing,
9. Audio/ Sound designing,
10. Multimedia designing,
11. Sculpture designing,
12. Game designing,
13. Software designing,
14. Handicrafts designing,
15. Crafts,
16. Tattoo designing,
17. Painting,
18. Photography, etc… the list goes on and on and on.

Designing does not only mean a graphical presentation or drawings. It also includes flowcharting, storyboarding, laying out a process, planning out a strategy (generally spoken as strategy designing), etc.

Well that was a short brief on designing by me. Hope it was pretty informative. I will be concentrating and writing more on Graphic & Multimedia designing, Animations, Coding, Advertising, Tutorials on Photoshop, Flash, Corel Draw, Illustrator, 3Ds Max, Maya, etc.

My Next Article will be on “How to start with Photoshop” which I will be posting in 2 days time.
Cheers :)
